How transform public spaces into healing gardens

How transform public spaces into healing gardens: a new matrix for urban life “system of healing gardens in the city”.

This project focus on salutogenic design into the urban environment. The urban context provides a lot of challenges for the human being, becoming more often unhealthy place to live, especially for the fewer green areas. The idea is to transform public space into healing garden, to contribute to better health-related (psychological, physical and social) quality of life, defining a new matrix for urban life: a system of healing
garden in the Nordhavn urban district, Copenhagen.

1. Salutogenic design (Stigsdotter et al. 2010) > mantain people’s mental, social and physical good health
2. Healing garden (Marcus et al. 1999) > variety of garden feature that foster restoration from stress and
other positive influences on the users.
